Instukem’s leaders quickly mobilized at the start of the pandemic to implement measures in their facilities to prevent spread of the virus among personnel and to ensure the continuity of the company’s activities. “We specialize in industrial and commercial cleaning solutions and the development of high-performance cleaning and disinfection products,” said Patrick Lapointe, Co-President of the company. “So, we are aware of the importance of the sanitization measures to be taken during a pandemic.”
Demonstrate rigour
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the company implemented various measures, including the following:
- Maintaining a two-metre distance between employees
- Wearing of a face covering and gloves by all employees
- Hand-washing stations with K-SAN sanitizer installed throughout the plant and in offices
- Frequent disinfection of surfaces, equipment and workspaces using the products KWAT and OMNISAN
- Installation of Plexiglas® panels between workstations located at least two metres apart
- Tight control of visitors
- Gift of Instukem products to employees for their personal needs
The company also wanted to go a step further by giving its sanitization products to hospitals and other health centres in the Montreal area where the need was the most urgent. “It’s our way of supporting them,” added Patrick.
Focus on innovation
Instukem is closely monitoring the evolution of COVID-19, as well as guidelines from health authorities. Its leaders continue to act responsibly to ensure employees and customers are protected, and to limit the spread of the virus. “The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the importance of innovating in the field of cleaning and disinfection products,” said Nadine Ethier, Instukem’s Director of operations. “That’s why we maintain our commitment to forge ahead with our research in the area of industrial and commercial solutions. These efforts will enable us to continue to provide quality products, manufactured in a safe environment, that meets the new needs of our customers.”
